March for Justice
Poem By Anjana (Anju) Agarwal, Charlotte, NC
We mourn the young doctor’s tragic fate
A brutal end, to a life so great
We should stand together, to demand change
No woman should suffer brutal rampage
Respect, safety, and justice we claim
For her and all women, let’s break the chain
Women’s lives matter, let’s wipe away tear
Let’s unite, to make a safer world, no more fear
We all mourn young doctor’s tragic fate
A brutal end, to a life so great
We all should stand together, to demand change
Your memory we hold tight
A shining star extinguished in the night
We protest, marched for justice to make our voices clear
Women’s lives matter, let’s wipe away each tear
No more violence no more fear
Let’s unite, to make a safer year
Parents, family and friends remember your smile so bright
A life cut short, by a horrific night
We gather to demand a safer space
Where women can live without a constant pace
Of fear, violence pain and shame
Let’s work together to end this cycle reclaim
