The Government of India in late January 2024 introduced a new category of Ayush (AY) visa for foreign nationals administering treatment under the Ayush system/Indian system of medicine like therapeutic care and wellness such as Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy, etc. Accordingly, Embassy of India, Washington DC has announced that an Ayush (AY-1) visa for foreigners visiting India for treatment under Ayush System/ Indian systems of medicine and their Ayush attendants visa AY-2 (co-terminus with AY-1 visa holder) can be applied under Regular Paper Visa option as well as through their e-visa portal.
