The 28th annual Festival of India took place in Charlotte on September 14 & 15, 2024. Presented by the India Association of Charlotte, the two-day event took place at Belk Theater and on Tryon Street Uptown, on Saturday and at Ballantyne’s Backyard on Sunday.

The festival is one of the biggest events in Charlotte and celebrates India’s rich heritage of artistic and cultural diversity. The fest presented many classical and contemporary dance performances along with food, vendors, arts and crafts.

On Sunday, along with dances, there was the unique live performance of “Rhapsody in Raag Jog” in partnership with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

The fusion concert featured a groundbreaking work by composer Drew Zaremba.

This piece featured bansuri flutist and saxophonist Anjan Shah along with a table player, guitarist and bassist.
