On June 13, 2022 in Chicago, the James Beard Foundation named Chai Pani in Asheville, NC the 2022 Outstanding Restaurant Award winner. The Outstanding Restaurant Award goes to “a restaurant that demonstrates consistent excellence in food, atmosphere, hospitality, and operations while contributing positively to its broader community.”
The award was part of annual event that announced the winners of the 2022 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards.
