On the occasion of Gurugadi Sarsapuri Kaival Gnana Pithadhishwar Pujya Jagatguru Sri Avichaldevacharya Maharaj Shri’s 75th Amrit Janmotsav, the event “Sat Kaival Youth Shibir” was organized between June 26 – 30, 2024 in Greensboro, NC.
The first two days, children and youth participated in upasana of Divine Paramguru Shrimat Karunasagar and Kaival Gyan satsang in the presence of Jagatguruji. A food packing outreach initiative was organized to provide food to those in need.
An “Amrit Janmotsav Youth Competition” was organized with competitions in which youth participated enthusiastically. After this the children played various games in the park with Jagatguruji. The idea was that sports is not only a matter of entertainment, but it also brings motivation, courage, discipline and concentration.
A workshop was then organized where everyone learned creative and social skills. The third day was dedicated to recreation and adventure. Young children connected with nature via the zoo as young adults connected with nature via kayaking and hiking.
On the last day, youth and young adults showcased what they learned at this year’s shibir by sharing speeches and singing a kirtan. Pujya Jagatguruji also blessed all attendees with an inspirational discourse focused on the Indian American community’s contributions and future in the USA.
The objective of this youth camp is to develop the youth holistically, which includes their physical, mental and spiritual development. This 5-day camp helps infuse new energy in youth and gives them concentration towards their life goals with sports.
