Vinay Mohan Kwatra has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the United States of America.
The ministry of external affairs made the announcement of appointment on July 19, 2024. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Kwatra retired as India’s foreign secretary earlier in July. He has previously served in China, the US, in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office and as India’s envoy to France from August 2017 to February 2020. He has also served at the Indian consulates in Durban, China, and Russia.
