India is increasingly focusing on green hydrogen, as part of its aim to become energy independent by 2047 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2070. While it is still nascent as a fuel, the Indian government has announced plans to produce at least 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen yearly by 2030. The use of green hydrogen would improve India’s energy self-reliance, but it also has its fair share of challenges. CNA’s Rebecca Bundhun reports.
