JET USA, a nonprofit organization founded by His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, has been dedicated to promoting education, service, cultural awareness, and humanitarian values in society. As part of this vision, the Prajna Program under JET USA has been serving the metro Charlotte community for around 16 years through two active centers in Ballantyne and Concord, focusing on the holistic personality development of children and youth.
Around 1,500 students in the Charlotte area have benefited from and graduated through the Prajna program. The curriculum emphasizes value-based education, leadership development, cultural awareness, and community engagement. Students are encouraged to become responsible and compassionate future citizens by learning the importance of respecting elders, caring for Mother Nature, preserving cultural heritage, and giving back to society through volunteer and service activities.
In addition to cultural and ethical education, the program supports the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of children through yoga, prayers, wellness practices, public speaking, and confidence-building activities. One of the most inspiring aspects of the program is seeing many Prajna alumni youth return to serve as volunteer teachers, continuing the tradition of learning and service for the next generation.
The Prajna Annual Day celebrations showcased students’ talents and learning through value-based skits, cultural presentations, and project exhibits prepared as part of the Prajna curriculum. Parents also shared heartfelt testimonials describing the positive transformation, confidence, and discipline they observed in their children through the program.
In recognition of Prajna’s contributions toward youth development, values-based education, cultural enrichment, and community service, the City of Charlotte officially recognized May 17, 2026, as “Prajna Day” during the Prajna Annual Day celebrations.
This recognition stands as a tribute to the dedicated volunteer teachers, coordinators, parents, students, alumni, and supporters who have tirelessly contributed to the growth and success of the Prajna program over the years. The chapter wishes to thank Guna Kommareddi for the continued encouragement and support.
