Welcome to Saathee’s 22nd anniversary edition. We began as a four-page, photo-copied publication in 1998 and have grown to the full color, glossy magazine you hold in your hand today.

We have maneuvered many challenges including Y2K, 9/11, and the 2008-9 recession. This year we are all traversing through the biggest global health and economic crisis of our lifetimes. Most small as well as many large businesses are facing unprecedented financial challenges.

We are celebrating our 22nd anniversary while gazing at our socially distanced workspaces, humbled by the Coronavirus crisis.

We generate all our revenue from advertisers as we deliver this magazine to your homes and local retailers at no cost. In our noisy digital wastelands, print publications remain a relaxed place of undistracted reading, visual appeal and source of information. Magazines and newspapers still command high respect and trust from readers.

The social media behemoths and news aggregators like Google, Apple and Facebook receive huge benefits from the work of actual news gatherers. These and other companies don’t do the hard work of reporting, fact checking and putting information together. They simply grab and aggregate the information and send it out into the world.

Our work, the real work of community connections, continues on the human level.

This May issue is labeled as May/June double issue. We are working so that we will be able to bring you a separate June issue, otherwise we will be back with an issue in July and continue to work to bring this valuable resource to you all on a monthly basis.

We hope Saathee’s print edition and our popular website Saathee.com have been valuable sources of information and original writing. Producing Saathee is not a job to us, it is a passion.

Let’s continue our journey together as a community. We wish everyone good health and glance toward some semblance of normalcy in the near future.
