Hindustani slide guitar master Debashish Bhattacharya will perform live with his brother, Subhasis Bhattacharya on tabla. The performance is on Saturday, September 28, 2024 beginning at 7:30pm at Magnetic Sound Studios in Durham, NC. Bhattacharya applies the slide technique to traditional Hindustani music via the Chaturangui, a 24-stringed hybrid instrument of his own design (one of three self-created instruments he routinely uses). This instrument has 3 extra sets of strings – 2 drone strings and 14 resonating strings on the bass side and 2 rhythm strings on the treble side – making it ideally suited to the fusion projects for which Bhattacharya has become famed.
