Voice of India Research Essay Competition

The Voice of India Research Essay Competition is now accepting essays. The purpose of this initiative is for the student to explore the history of India from ancient times to the contemporary era and various forces which significantly influenced its course. The subject of the essay is: “Glorious past of India, its downfall and revival.” The competition is open to all the students (both undergraduate and graduate students) enrolled for the 2020/2021 semester in any college or university in North Carolina. A committee of three (3) members will evaluate all the submissions based on various factors and without knowing the identity of the candidates. The committee’s cumulative decision will be final. Voice of India committee reserves the right to publish these essays in a variety of media. It may include but not limited to Facebook, WhatsApp, Hindu Society newspapers, publications, and internet sites in addition to newspapers and other local and international publications. The student will also have the right to publish the essay that was submitted by him/her.

Length, Content and Formatting: The target length of the essay should not exceed 30 pages inclusive of as maps, diagrams, and tables. all in 1.5 line spacing. Font size shall be 12. A list of references should not be included in the page count. All content contributes toward the overall evaluation of the essay. Include the following information: Name, email and phone number and college details of the participant on the front page. All work submitted for this competition is expected to be the result of the entrant’s own research and thoughts, expressed in his/her own words. Each entrant is required to submit his/her respective Essay electronically by email to voiceofindia@tahts.org by the deadline of April 30, 2021 to be considered for the competition. The essay must be in Microsoft Word format. Results will be announced on the TAHT (www.taht.org) website on May 15, 2021. Scholarship Money: 1st Prize $800, 2nd Prize $500, 3rd Prize $200. In addition, all the participants will be recognized through a certificate of appreciation.
