Meditation Teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda

In commemoration of the centennial of Paramahansa Yogananda's arrival in the West and the founding of his Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), the SRF is hosting its first fully online World Convocation from August 9-15, 2020.

This global gathering is intended to provide strength, solace, and spiritual guidance to people around the world through the power of group meditations, united prayer, kirtan (sacred chanting), and immersion in the meditation teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, who is widely regarded as the father of Yoga in the West, introducing millions of Westerners to India's timeless science of the soul.

The 2020 Online Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation is a week-long event open to all at no charge, and features: Daily livestreamed meditations and kirtan, including a live kirtan from SRF's sister organization, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) at its Ranchi, India headquarters; Livestreamed classes presented by monks and nuns of Self-Realization Fellowship that bring Yogananda's timeless wisdom into modern focus; Informal satsangas.

Topics include: how to cultivate the understanding of the individual as not the body, but the soul, and what that means in terms of attaining one's highest potential and seeing that potential in all others; an exploration of Yogananda's maiden speech in America about the universality of meditation; how to navigate the challenges of life through yoga and meditation; and how the awareness of divine love in everyday life can bring an inner assurance that can transform one's life.

The Convocation will be livestreamed mostly from the international headquarters of SRF in LA, where Yogananda lived and worked from 1925 until his passing in 1952.
