Kolappa Capital Flag Program Honor February, 28, 2017

This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United States Capital on February 28, 2017.

At the request of the Honorable George Holding, Member of Congress, this flag was flown in memory of Vimala Pasnamabhan Kolappa.

Vimala Padmanabhan becomes the first Indian woman (from Kerala) to receive the
privilege of being recognized at the US Capitol.

Vimala Padmanabhan Kolappa, 85 years old, passed away on Feb 26th, 2017. Vimala has always been revered for her positive attitude and a strong personality despite her failing health. She is survived by her son, Vimal Kolappa, Daughter-in-law Kala Kolappa, 2 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild.

In the world of politicians where trust & belief are desolate, we should be proud of one person who not only keeps his promises, but dedicates his service to those who supported him. He is none other than US congressman George Holding, a respectable statesman of rare quality and a close friend of Indian-Americans and a personal friend of Vimal Kolappa. His action shows the depth of his gratitude that lasts. This time, he showed his respects by honoring Vimala Padmanabhan Kolappa by flying the US Flag on top of the US Capitol. He is an inspiration to all of us. Sharing the profound grief with a great honor is something that can be remembered by the Kolappa family & the Indian community in the triangle area.
