Hindu Center Art Exhibition - May 18-19, 2019
Hindu Center's sixth annual Art and Craft Exhibition took place at the Vihar Hall on May 18-19, 2019. The Exhibition featured more than 30 adult Indian artists and 60 children artists presenting paintings, sculpture, crafts, textile art, jewelry, and more. Also on hand were henna artists and food stalls featuring local Indian chefs. Contests were also held for best Rangoli, best henna along with the art contest “Define India".
Hindu Center Art Exhibition - May 19-20, 2018
More than 50 Indian artists and 60 children artists participated. The event featured visual artists, craft artists, kids artists, culinary artists with two contests: Charlotte's Best Henna Artists and Charlotte's Best Rangoli Artists. The event stood as a platform for young minds to transcend the boundaries of their inherent aesthetic potential. From bright hues from crayons and distinct palettes of acrylic paint to the fusion of the five elements and the ethnicity of various kind of art, the exhibition touched upon art in its contemporary and traditional forms. Overall it was worth to endure. For two days it was a grand festival of art in Vihar Hall. The event was coordinated by Santvana Anju Jain, with volunteer help by Pooja modani, Monali Tailor, Sangeetha Mudumbai, Namita Mishra, and with support of Chidabah Vyas, Hemant Amin, Ashok Bhampuria and Reena Roy.
Hindu Center Expansion Groundbreaking - November 20, 2010
Bhoomi Pujan and groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Hindu Center of Charlotte was held on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Dozens of people, including past Hindu Center presidents and supporters, gathered on a sunny morning for the puja and groundbreaking. Later that evening a fundraiser dinner was held at the temple where the band Bollywood Masti performed. Over $900,000 were pledged for the expansion plans by many of the attendees.
