Prime Minister Modi to Visit US and President Trump

India and the United States will be aiming for "a new direction for deeper bilateral engagement" and "consolidation of multi-dimensional strategic partnership" when Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets President Trump for the first time on June 26, 2017 the Indian Embassy announced. Modi will arrive on June 25 and hold official talks with President Trump on June 26. This will be the first meeting between the two leaders. Their discussions will provide a new direction for deeper bilateral engagement on issues of mutual interest and consolidation of multi-dimensional strategic partnership between India and the U.S. The meeting was scheduled at the request of President Trump. The two leaders will meet again just two weeks later on July 7-8 at the G-20 in Hamburg, Germany.
